Cookie policy
Beta — provisional. gradIQual is in early beta. This policy reflects the site as it is built today and may change as the service develops; we will update the date above when it does.

The short version
This website is built to be light on cookies. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookie-like technology we use is an abuse-prevention check from Cloudflare, and it loads only on pages that include our chat widget.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website can store in your browser. Some are strictly necessary to make a feature work; others track behaviour for analytics or advertising. We use only the first kind, and only where a feature needs it.
What we use
Cloudflare Turnstile — abuse prevention (strictly necessary, non-tracking)
To stop our contact and chat features being abused by bots, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly alternative to a CAPTCHA. It runs a check in your browser to tell humans apart from automated traffic.
- It is strictly necessary for the protected feature (contact and chat) to work safely, so under UK rules it does not require a consent banner.
- It is non-tracking — it is not used for analytics or advertising, and it does not profile you across sites.
- It loads only on pages that include the chat widget. Pages without the chat widget do not load it.
- It runs as a background check and uses local browser storage and a short-lived token; in our configuration it does not set Cloudflare’s optional “pre-clearance” cookie.
- To work, the check shares limited technical data (such as your IP address and basic browser signals) with Cloudflare, acting as our provider, to detect automated abuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in protecting the service; this is also described in our Privacy policy.
Cookies we do not use
- No analytics cookies (for example, no Google Analytics).
- No advertising or tracking cookies.
- No third-party social or marketing pixels.
If this ever changes — for example, if we introduce privacy-respecting analytics — we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Managing cookies
Because we use only a strictly necessary abuse-prevention check on chat-enabled pages, there is nothing tracking you to switch off. You can still control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking the abuse-prevention check may stop the chat widget working.
