Free gives you one class set a week to try gradIQual properly. Pro is for teachers who use it regularly: unlimited homework and classwork marking, plus an assessment paper each half-term.

How credits and marking work
What's a "class set"?
A class set is one assignment for one class, up to 35 students. It's the only unit you need to understand — one set is one piece of marking for one group of pupils.
"Homework and classwork" means normal homework, classwork, quizzes, essays, and short written tasks where you want feedback. On Free you get one class set a week; on Pro it's unlimited.
What's an "assessment paper"?
An assessment paper is a longer, test-style paper where you want marks against a paper, mark scheme, rubric, or set of questions. It is not official exam marking — gradIQual does not offer that.
Assessment-paper marking costs more to run, so it has its own allowance:
- Free includes one assessment paper to try, then £29 per class set.
- Pro includes six assessment papers a year — roughly one each half-term — then £19 per class set.
When the allowance resets
Pro's six assessment papers all reset together on 1 September. They do not roll over — use them as you go through the year. Free's weekly class-set allowance doesn't roll over either. If you start Pro partway through the year, you get a prorated allocation up to the next 1 September (signing up in March gives you roughly three assessment papers until the reset). Your billing date is separate from the assessment reset date.
If a marking job fails
Failed marking jobs — an unreadable upload, or a technical error on our side — don't count against your allowance. If a paid assessment-paper job fails, we refund it.

Pricing FAQs
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free is £0, gives you one class set a week, and includes one assessment paper to try. You only need a verified school email — no card.
What does Pro cost?
£14.99 a month, or £119 for a year. The annual plan works out at about £9.92 a month — paying for the year up front saves you the equivalent of roughly two months compared with paying monthly.
Should I pay monthly or annually?
Monthly (£14.99) keeps things flexible and you can cancel any time. Annual (£119) is cheaper over a year if you know you'll use gradIQual across the year. Both give you the same features and the same six included assessment papers.
What happens when I've used my included assessment papers?
You can still mark more. Extra assessment papers are £19 per class set on Pro, or £29 per class set on Free, charged per set.
Do unused allowances roll over?
No. Free's weekly class set and Pro's six assessment papers don't roll over — they're there to use as you go.
If I start Pro mid-year, do I get all six assessment papers?
You get a prorated number up to the next 1 September reset, then the full six each year after that.
Is VAT added?
No. The prices shown are the prices you pay.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time — Pro is a subscription with no lock-in.
